Boost it? With what? You check your fluid levels? Anything leaking from underneath the car? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

i havent tried to boost it again as the smoke kinda freaked me out. is that normal for a v8? and i dont want to try boosting it until i know for sure that it will not further damage the car. please let me know your suggestions and opinion as i am a novice car guy any info on this will be much appreciated.

You didn't by chance have the jumper cables backwards did you? That would create a lot of sparks and smoke immediately as you would be creating 24 volts in a 12 volt system. Is the wiring charred? Is there a worn spot on the wire that is grounding to the body?
