Power Window problem Sign In

I have a 98 GMC Jimmy and the window is stuck down. I have the panel off, but can't get the window up.
Any ideas or suggestions??

With everything still hooked up just hit the button for UP and look at the interior dome light with engine off and key in run postion. If light flikers (dims) the wiring is probably good and the motor is bad. Some will work again if you can moderately tap on them while requesting UP with the button.

If nothing noted (meaning juice being used by motor as seen in the dome light) test for voltage alernating between pos and neg at the two wires going right to the motor. They reverse polarity for up and down requests.

If nothing seen or wrong, you could jump just the wires to just the the motor to get it back up and then hunt down why the wiring isn't directing juice to the motor....

It might be a faulty power window motor. I had that happen to me a couple of times. Or the window can go off track too, i had re-track my window several times on my older lexus & honda.
