blower motor quit working

My 97 Buick Lesabre, 3.8 engine 120,000 miles I shut the car off to fill with gas. Restarted car after filling and the blower motor failed to work. No prior problems. No noise, no prior problems. Acts like a fuse is blown. I checked all three fuse locations, the owners manual does not show a blower motor fuse, HVAC fuse is not blown. Is there a breaker or relay, and where is it located. thanks for any help you can give!! thanks dan

Probably would be a good idea to first check for power and ground to the blower motor at the blower connector. Should be easy to check on that design. Sometimes for a quick check to see if you have a blower motor brush problem you can also try wacking on the blower motor housing with it turned on high. If the blower takes off when you wack it, you need another blower motor. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Check the Blower Motor speed relay. I would try swapping it with the horn relay. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

OK, now you need to go back and redo all your testing because you have done something wrong. These results aren't possible.

I took the 5 prong blower relay out and replaced it with a new one and, THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. I took a chance because everything else checked as good. Thank you for all your help and taking the time to show me diagrams, could not have done it with out your help. I told the guys at Auto Zone about CarJunky.com and highly recommend its use. thanks again Dan P

Not possible either. The way this is wired, if that relay was bad, you would have had all speeds but high so your answers are still wrong.

Unless the relay contacts were fried. Open up the old relay and check out the contacts. Glad to see you got your blower working again. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
