deadspot in starter maybe? Sign In

i have a 93 toyota camry se,and when my car has been sitting all night,in the morning i put the key in and it just clicks about5 or 6 times then starts and runs fine the rest of the day,i just put a new battery in,the starter really got hot a few months ago, wonders if this problem is coming from the starter it self,or something else, bad cables, any ideals would really help.....thks pat in missouriSmile

Sounds like a bad starter but you will have to test for power arriving on the small wire when this happens.

The small wire going to the starter is the trigger wire from the ignition switch and it is powered when the key is in "start" position.
