heater/ac switch Sign In

95 chevy baretta 3.1 liter v6 the heater / ac switch will not go on def.or on heat, it seems only to work when on bi level and heat just comes out of the vents i need the defrosters to work for winter, i checked all the vaccum lines on switch under the dash and they are all on could it be the switch itself? thanks for the help

Here’s a vacuum diagram for the heater system.
Remember, just like a wiring diagram, they are drawn in the off position. You have to imagine moving the mode dial to the different positions and then follow the flow of vacuum, in the different positions.
Also the diagram shows five different spools; when in fact you’ll only see the one because they are all housed in the one vacuum switch.
For example you turn the mode switch to defrost; all five of the spools will be in position 8.

i think i understand what you're saying about the vaccum diagram, but could the switch be bad? i dont want to waste the $ 40.00 for nothing .......thank you
