i have a 99 suburban k1500, 5.7 v8, 4 wdr, i have checked the fuse under the dash, replaced the a/c relay in the fuse box under the hood, tried a different used compressor. when i start the vehicle, turn the a/c switch on , the light on the switch comes on, turn the fan on, i have juice ad ground at the front plug on the compressor, have tried to bypass, or loop, the low pressure switch, the only thing i haven't checked, because i am not sure what it is supposed to do, is check the plug on the back of the compressor, 2 wire plug, not sure what thats for . i need help please. thanks, Bruce.

Did you say that you have both power and ground at the compressor plug? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Then you just have a bad compressor clutch. That eliminates everything else.

I'd have to go along with a bad clutch if you have power & ground @ the compressor connector. The only curious thing is, you said you tried a used compressor. I suppose it's possible to have 2 bad clutches, I'm assuming you checked the air gap & it's between .050 & .076 mm. I think I would like to know how you check for power & ground on that compressor connection......

If air gap alone was the trouble than tapping on the hub would engage it and it can be adjusted to more like .020 to fix that, T
