I have a 2000 Honda Spirit 1100ccwith 10,000 miles on it. It is normally maintained thru dealerships. I seem to have a problem each year with the carbs. I do use a fuel stabilizer each year and have already gone thru a tank of gas this year. Right now it will start okay with the full choke and even hold a steady rpm in neutral but as soon as I try to throttle up it begins to stall unless I keep the throttle open. When riding, when I come to a stop with the choke off it will stall out. When I try to restart it I need to open the choke again for it to stay running. There is some backfiring while riding it although not real bad. I do have the bike maintained normally at the dealers but I was hoping there was something I could do at home to adjust it this year rather than spending a few hundred for cleaning and adjusting again this year. It also seems to be just slightly slow at the rpm's when it is idling. Any help would be appreciated.

Well Art....I don't work on bikes but from what you are saying it sounds like you have a vacuum leak, if you have to keep the choke on to keep it running wen warm....

While it's ldling you can spray some carb cleaner around the intake & carb base, if the rpms raise, that is were the leak is......

I own a 2002 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R. When I drive over bumps my bike cuts off and on. It keeps doing this until floods. Its rather embarrassing when it happens (which is often). What causes this and how do I fix it. If you have any questions about the bike just ask and I'll answer. Thank you
