04 Highlander Brake Issue Sign In

I had a very small accident a couple of years ago. My front passenger side bumper had a hole punched in it by a front tow hook on a Jeep. Since then all the yellow dash warning lights are on. Occasionally the Trac Off light and the VSC light go out. When this happens the brakes grab really hard. This lasts from 10 minutes to 1 or 2 days. Then both of those lights will come back on (by themselves) and the brakes work (no grabbing), but are mushy. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to stop it? I tried resetting the check engine light, but that only turned the check eng. light and the one that looks like a little motor off. The rest of the yellow lights are still on.

What you could do would be to check out the area that was damaged, see if there is any ground connections or connecter that are broken/damaged/loose/corroded and if there is, repair the damage.

If all that is ok then you are going to need to take it to a shop the has the right equipment and ability to diagnose and repair the vehicle's stability systems. There really isn't much DIY serviceable stuff on these systems....
