 Problem is fuel delivery.IMHO
Pump was just changed 2 years ago for $5oo. Don't want to go there again if I can avoid it(especially if that is not where I should be looking) spark and everything else seems good. However car will occasionaly drop its idle very low (for an automatic) and then stall out. Or on the highway it will starve and die if the engine revs to high (like the speed limit of 60mph) Or it will not start if I stop at a Starbucks for a coffee for 10 minutes after driving it 5 miles to get there.
A friend took off the air cleaner and put some fuel down the "throttle body" and I cranked it and it fired up and I was able to keep it going for a while while the revs remained in the middle zone(like driving 30MPH while in drive)
- Now is it the fuel pump again?
- Or possibly a tube that connects to the top of the fuel
tank to relieve negative pressure so that the tank does not
collaspe inward.?
- Or possibly something in the Thottle Body Injection I can check? to make sure all is good there?
The fuel filter to the engine compartment is seemingly clean.(as it is a clear plastic unit.)
I "have noted" that the fuel cap was not stock.
Air cleaner is clean.

You'll need to do some testing when this is happening. If you are suspecting fuel vapor lock, take off the cap when it won't start and see if you get a lot of vapors coming out. Also, if you think its got low fuel pressure you need to verify this with a pressure reading. Post back with results and we can go from there

Well, you know how it is. It will do it for the driver, but for me; I can't make it do anything even if I drive the "snot" out of the thing . That is what is aggravating about it.
It is not that the driver doesn't drive this way. Females are always hammering it.

But, I took off the gas cap(mind you it is under half full) and has been sloshing around as I have been taking a lot of corners (the road is like that)....anyways. After stopping and shutting it down( I waited about 10 sec and tried a restart and it started)
I went out and checked the fuel cap and it hissed a lot as I removed it.

I did have a time when it "did quit on me" in my driveway. Then I was experimenting with twisting speed of the ignition key. If I went to the ignition lights and stopped there for a couple of seconds and then continued on to the starter - it cranked but did not start. Repeated it=same result; repeated a 3rd time= same result. I seemed to have more luck if I did not wait at the dashlights and just went to the starter motor. Is there some fuel cutoff solenoid being activated somewhere?
There is at this time lots of fuel flow, so I realize that does not help you in that department.
