Start out testing for power arriving at the small trigger wire at the starter solenoid while the key is held in "start" position. If you have power there then you are looking at a starter.solenoid problem. If not, we have to test the rest of the circuit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

2 basic things I would probably take a look at would be 1st, try to jump it, you might of left something on while the dash was out & killed the batt or look at the clutch switch, you might of knocked the connector off & that's not the starter solenoid you hear... If that checks out then start out in the direction Hammer has pointed you.......

It's on the clutch pedal....It's a safety so the engine won't crank unless the pedal is depressed....but if you are sure you are hearing the starter, then that isn't the problem Also if jumping did no good, get under the truck & rap on the starter with a hammer while someone trys to crank it to see if the starter has a dead spot......Just make sure park brk is on, wheels blocked & clutch is pushed all the way in.....basically all the normal safety stuff. It would suck to get run over by your own truck....

If the solenoid is engaging for sure, then the issue can only be a poor cable connection or a bad starter.
