Sliding power door not working.
Can the motor be removed and make it a "normal" door?

Re: power sliding door Sign In

well hopefully it stopped working when the door was closed so your kids arent driving around like the UPS drivers lol.

my question is.

ive never been in or worked on a minivan, but i would assume that you could use the power open close function or do it manually to begin with... but that being said.

since you said the power door motor stopped working and you want convert the door to manual operation.......to me that means the door doesnt open or close right now right???. how do you plan to open the door to work on it???

Re: power sliding door Sign In

It can be manually opened but it just takes a lot of pull. My thought is that if not attached to the motor, it would open as easily as the other door that is not powered.

Re: power sliding door Sign In

The door is designed to operate manually if needed, just move it slowly, you may just need to Reinitialize the system.

2. Check to be sure the power sliding door is unlocked and securely closed.

3. Turn the ignition key to OFF.

4. If the power sliding door override is on, press the textured end of the power sliding door override switch to turn it off.

5. Remove fuse 29 from the underhood fuse block. Leave it out for 30 seconds.

6. Reinstall the fuse and wait 10 seconds.

7. Turn the power sliding door override on by pressing the end of the switch with the override symbol on it.

8. Press the power sliding door switch to open the power sliding door.

9. Open the door all of the way.

10. Wait five seconds and close the door by pressing the power sliding door switch.

11. Wait five seconds and repeat Steps 7 through 9.

You would not beleive how complicated the electronics are for that door, the repair can be hiddiously expensive,
