Hey guys,

As the topic says, somehow this CRV won't start all of a sudden. When I attempted to start the engine, all I heard was a chik-chik like sound and that was it.
My question is, is this what happens when the car battery runs out? The thing that puzzles me the most is that I've experienced battery-run-out before but I just can't recall the car making that sound when starting.
(As you may tell, I am totally new to cars)

Thanks a bunch!

Two common failures with batteries are:

1. Low power so the solonoid will "machine gun" if you will or "flutter" indicating low charge usually. May also mean battery can't hold a charge and time to replace.

2. Single clicks frequently mean a connection is weak. Most common are right at the battery and at the starter motor. They can look ok visually but really only making the effective contact of a pinhead.

Other: IMO batteries are really only dependable for a few years from DOM. All are marked either in code or obvious what month and year they were made - embossed into the casing. That's the real age - not a purchase date which is a warranty thing....
