2000 Elantra car wouldn't start Sign In

Hi
I was wondering if someone might be able to help me. I started up my 2000 Hyundai Elantra 2.0L with 169,000 mi and the battery and brake light suddenly appear on my dash very faintly. So I was assuming that the battery might be going dead later that night when I put on my headlights they didn't seem like they were working, shortly there after my car died. I tried to start it, it sounded like it was going to turn over but stopped before it did and I just got clicking. So the next day I went back to my car and tried jumping it and it started right up so I replaced the battery. Then yesterday the car worked fine I could start it up and turn it off with no problem restarting it then when when I went out later and put my headlights on I noticed the dash light for the battery and brake faintly on again, So I don't know if the battery was the problem or not any advice would be great.

The battery light being on is not a reflection of your battery condition. It's an indication that the battery is not being recharged, usually due to a bad alternator. Your old battery could have been recharged and replacing it only bought you a few hours before it used up that one too. You need to have the charging system tested.
