2000 Pontiac Sunfire Sign In

What`s the skinny on a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire? Seeing some really mixed reviews.Almost split down the middle. Some love them others call them a nightmare.

Moved this out of "Bargain Bin" and can go back if you wish.
Specific vehicles and their track records plain vary from owner to owner as to what worked out well and what was a problem vehicle. I don't know of any wild problems with the car,

You really get what you pay for. The Sunfire/Cavalier is GMs entry level vehicle. You can't compare it with a Grand Prix. They are worth what they cost. I wouldn't compare it to a Corolla but it does sell for as much either.

Re: 2000 Pontiac Sunfire Sign In

You're thinking of buying this I'm guessing. Well its a 12 year old car that was built cheap from the first day. I've seen some people get good life out of them and others blow more than it was worth. What matters is how its driven and how its maintained like any other car ever made. Internet blogs aren't how you see if its a good purchase. If you're interested in it take the car to a reputable shop and tell them you are looking at buying it and want it looked over real good. Probably will pay an hour of labor to do so. The techs know what to look for and know of issues they usually see with these. They can give you a good idea of most apparent issues with the car and what it would take to fix those issues. Make sure its a shop that has no stake in you buying this thing, ensuring an unbiased opinion. If the person or dealer that owns this has a problem with that don't walk away, run. Only someone with something to hide won't allow a fair and unbiased inspection prior to the sale. Trust me, its money well spent.
