2001 dodge intrepid, 2.7L, 6 cyl. i changed the thermostat (a pain) so the coolant is drained. Seems like a dumb question, but how do i refill with coolant? the only way i can see is via the resevoir, but it's not going anywhere. The book says there's a "bleed valve" on a second resevoir for letting air out as you fill, but i can't see it or a second res. Maybe you know where it is or the trick to this, can't be too tough but i'm missing something!!

The bleeder looks like a grease fitting and it's on the water outlet on the front of the engine. Open it while filling. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

thank you much. actually before i got your reply i opened the hood and had a "duh" moment. still filled slowly but it worked. 50 years old, have done most of my own work, but mainly on chevys and fords with a few dodges. with all i had to dig through just to change the thermostat on this intrepid i can say (if i had any doubts before) i don't like dodge. thanks again, car junky is a great place to know about.

Yep, Chrysler can make some tough thermostats. Glad you got it though.
