2003 Silverado windshield noise (weird, i know)

Hi all, new to this site. I JUST purchased a 2003 Silverado LT with 127K on it. I get a sound like hard rain hitting the windshield when I get up to HWY speeds. (55-60 MPH) It does not make the sound during in-town driving. The sound actually seems to be coming from the windshield area- specifically the upper right corner area as you are sitting in the truck. It sounds EXACTLY like hard rain hitting your windshield. I have checked all the basics like window trim being loose, and possible foreign object stuck in trim blowing around hitting windshield. The only thing I see is the rubber flaps that cover the hood hinges blowing around and flapping- but to transfer the noise up the windshield...? ANY help is GREATLY appreciated!

One trick you could try is to have someone use a leaf blower on the windshield area while you sit in the vehicle to see where exactly the noise may be coming from. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

are you sure there aren't small rocks on the highways flipping up and hitting the glass? you said the noise only occurs during high speeds.. that is really strange. is it just one road or all of them that this happens?

Try taping down the reveal moldings and take it for a ride.
