2004 camry brake noise

Hi. I have a 2004 Camry, 85k miles. In Feb, annual inspection revealed that brake pads needed replacement, so the next month, pads replaced. The month follwing that, the car had wheel shake at 65+ mph, so took it in for new tires/wheel alignment. It was also decide to replace rotors, as they did have some life left, but as probably going to keep car for "a while". decided to replace rotors. There had been some grinding when brakes applied. This is where issues have started. The right front continues to make gringding.screeching noises when brakes applied. Took it back, and was told, the caliper slide is sticking. Remedy was ti "lube it up". Within a few miles, grinding issue reappeared. Took it back again, was told same thing, was "lubed up" and sent on my way. Still persisted...took to a different mechanic, and same result..hard grinding on test drive, took it apart, all seems ok, and was sent on my way. By the way, the 2nd mechanic was a major Northeast chain, so I would assume if they wanted to find something wrong, thye would. He said if it persists, which it is, "we can talk about replacing parts". Well, which parts should be replaced? It appears as if nothing major is broke, as both would surely take opportunity to do so. Also, what is potential for additional damage if slide keeps sticking. Thanks in advance, Chris

You're not going to find the answer to this question on the Internet. The problem is there to be found by a competent tech that knows what to look for. The chain companies aren't known for employing a lot of competence. All they need to know is how to sell to get that job. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

The first problem on needing brake pads and told just brake pads for X amount was irresponsible and yes they do advertise that here with usually small print that other parts extra as found when doing that. Shops really shouldn't replace just pads but even so should lube caliper slides but might not know if calipers themselves are OK or flex hoses to them. New rotors on recent pads that were grinding were no go for use again so basically you have done nothing to the brakes and pretty much it's back to when you were told it just needed pads, new rotors could be wrecked already and many don't allow enough extra metal to machine them to work well again. You've also been to assorted places and would hope that one of them would just say you need a whole brake job, pads, calipers, flex hoses + perhaps any other worn or broken slide pins, bracket or anti-rattle hardware. People don't like hearing of the added expense of doing the whole job and end up right where you are, T

They probably put a set of crappy brake pads on it if the noise only happens when you applying the brakes. More than likely the cheapest brand you can get that are made from the finest materials China has to offer. Get a set of Wagner Thermo quiets or Akebonos. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
