i have a 2006 Chevy cobalt SE and it wont start, at least when i turn the key over the radio, air, and all other lights do but not the motor it self, not even a click, just dead. i have a brand new batter in it and iv taken it to the dealer and they thought it was my stick and ended up replacing it and that still wasn't it. i did some research and im starting to think its the ignition switch or something.

"stick" What stick? Seems like no power to trigger wire at starter. Neutral safety switch, ignition or perhaps the ignition switch. Any theft controls that could do that on this car? I don't understand why a shop never mind a dealer hasn't isolated the problem not just try parts till something is stumbled upon? T

You are sending this out so shouldn't have to worry about how or what to look for, they should. Just saying nothing clicks when you go to start it should be enough of a description for techs to chase down why. Anything between the key, wiring, shifter location on the path to trigger the starter motor which could be the issue itself. I'm just surprised something was tried and not tested to work and you are here asking. The shop should be chasing it down, T
