I have a 2006 focus with 80,000 miles. when i take off in 1st and second there is a rumbling sound coming from the drivers front side. It quiets down when get up to speed. its quiet when revved in neutral it only makes the sound under a load. When I put it in gear with the brake on and torque the engine the motor mounts seem ok. Im kinda confused.

You could hae a motor mount of the exhaust system grounding out on the frame or body under load. Could be a bearing in the transaxle too. You need someone experienced to drive it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I put a Steeda intake on it a a few months ago and at at first I thought it was the intake because the sound is coming from that area. But the sound just keeps getting louder and louder. When I first take off its like a rumbling growl then when I accelerate it sounds like a 2 stroke dirt bike rattling. I cant find anything loose anywhere. A bearing in the transaxle makes sense though I will have to get it checked out

You're not looking for something loose. You're looking for any part of the engine, especially the exhaust or motor mount that is making direct contact with the frame or body without rubber insulation. This may only be happening with the torque of the engine.
