2007 Impreza 2.5i Wheel Question

Hey guys, I have a simple question really. I just bought a 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5i and it has some ground effects and such but I want to replace the wheels. However I'm not sure what to look for as far as size because I know the rim size only matters relative to the tire size, so I could get 15" rims with tires or like 17" with low profile. But what I'm wondering is with each of the rim sizes what size tires would I need for this car? Thanks in advance, Josh

the tires you would need would have to have the right width and aspect ratio for the rim itself but also room to fit in the wheel well. my rims are 16 in. diameter by 8.5 width. so i opt for the common 245/55 16 tire for mine but i can get tires with less aspect ratio id need a tire with more width so youd have to look up what size tire fits what size rim but include the diameter and width of the rim or the tire might have the right diameter but the incorrect width for you rims. wherever you get your rims im sure will tell you what size of tire is required for that rim. you might be able to check with a dealer to see if they have a list of rim sizes available to use on your car. GM ASEP 26 SCC Milford ASE certified in Brakes and Electrical on Thursday April 5th 2012

The important thing in this is to maintain as close as possible to the same original height. There is a formula for maintaining that Sample 195 ------------------ / 60 ----------- / 15 cross section==== aspect------ rim size in mm ========= ratio Plus 1 formula add 20mm to the cross section reduce aspect ratio by 10% add 1 inch to rim size so the plus one for the 195/60/15 would be 215/50/16 for a plus 2, just double all the changes. This will leave you with approximately the same original height As far as what will fit in your wheel well, that can be changed by the amount of offset the wheel has but your going to have to use trial and error there. there is no formula. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

You need to know that if you sell upgrade wheel packages. Not much need elsewhere though. There are a lot of formulas for other things like calculating RPM and speedometer error from tire size or gear ratios changes also.
