MY 1965 BUICK SKYLARK 300 V8 2BBL, A/T -IS GIVING ME GRIEVE. I HAVEN'T HAD THIS CAR VERY LONG, IT HAD BEEN SITTING FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. AFTER FRESH GAS AND A JUMP IT STARTED UP, AND WE PUT IT ON A TRAILER. ONCE HOME I NOTICED IT WOULD CRANK AND CRANK, WITHOUT EVEN ACTING LIKE IT WANTED TO START (THIS NORMALLY OCCURED WHEN AT OPERATING TEMP), I BELIEVED IT WAS CARB. RELATED, SO I REBUILT THE 2BBL ROCHESTER, AND PUT IT BACK ON, IT SEEMED TO RUN GOOD, AND STARTED UP GOOD, AS LONG AS I DIDN'T GIVE IT A LOT OF GAS. AFTER DRIVING IT A FEW DIFFERENT TIMES (A FEW MILES EACH TIME), I WAS CONVINCED IT WOULD BE OKAY TO DRIVE IT TO THE BODY SHOP FOR PAINT-IT RAN GREAT NO PROBLEMS. NOW I JUST BROUGHT IT HOME FROM THE BODY SHOP (AFTER 8 WEEKS), AND IT DIED SEVERAL TIMES, WHEN DECELERATING TO A STOP, AND DIED FROM A STOP WHEN ACCELERATING (ESPECIALLY UP A GRADE), I STOPPED AT A GAS STATION, AND IT WOULD'NT START BACK UP-EVENTUALLY I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED HOME. I REPLACED FUEL FILTER, I PUT IN A NEW COIL. THE PREVIOUS OWNER SAID WHEN HE DID DRIVE IT AND WOULD STOP BRIEFLY AT A STORE, IT WOULD CRANK AND CRANK BEFORE STARTING-SO I BELIEVE I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HEY IS WRONG-HELP ME PLEASE-THANX.
