'91 Mazda 626 Hard Starting Sign In

I recently purchased a '91 Mazda 626 255k miles 2.2l. I have installed new plugs, fuel filter and air filter. I have also sealed up the air tube from the air filter/air meter to the intake (learned from years of driving another '91 626). I have about 35psi fuel pressure at idle, pressure goes to 42 when throttle is opened. Once I get it started it runs excellent and once warmed up it restarts well. I have installed a new temp sensor and swapped out the distributor with the one from my daily driver with no change in problem.

I'm running out of ideas. Any thoughts?

Thanks

That's a nice list of parts you threw at it but you never stated what the problem is that your trying to fix.

If that's all the effort you can put into you own problem then don't expect us to beg you for information.

Is the check engine light coming on?
What does it take to get it started?
How long does it have to sit for it to be a problem?
What does it sound like when it first starts?
How old are the cap. rotor and wires?
With that mileage have you taken a compression test?

Your asking us to diagnose a problem sight unseen. We need every piece of applicable information possible. Two words in a title doesn't tell us anything.

I'd have to agree with Hammer on this one. With the fuel pressure guage connected, does the pressure bleed off after turning off the ignition? Make sure that you replaced the CTS, not the engine temp. sensor. One (the CTS) is for the computer, the other is for the guage. Being a '91, it may not be possible to get live data, but would be interesting to know what the computer is seeing for temp. when cold and warm? The CTS can be tested with an ohmeter. Certain amount of resistance, at different temperatures. If you need a chart, we can supply it.
