vw; Are you sure you are lacking fuel pressure? Are you getting injector pulse when it doesn't run? Fuel pump relay? Loren SW Washington

the fuel pump doesnot kick on when i turn on the ignition, there is no fuel is coming from the injectors when you turn ignition on or crank engine over. as far as i can tell there is no fuel pump relay on the vehicle. according to haynes manual there is no relay on this model.however there is a auto shut down relay could this be the problem. i dont know if this would cause one to work a few days then shut down or not. as i stated before this is the second brand new fuel pump i have put on and the previous owner installed one also . all old gas has been replacdd that was in the vehicle prior to my possession also. it set as whilke with previous owner so i assumed it could have been a bad fuel pump cause by the old gas so i changed it. and changed it agian when problem started over after just a couple of days.

wv; You are correct. This uses an ASD relay. We still need to know if the fuel pump is getting voltage. A noid light connected to the injectors to see if they are pulsing will tell us a lot. If I'm reading the diagram correctly, it is a dark green wire with a black tracer that supplies the fuel pump (coming from the ASD relay). Again, if reading correctly, the SBEC (pin #9, dark blue wire) powers the ASD relay (fuse #13). Hopefully, one of the guys that are much better than me will jump in here. Electrical is my weakest area. Loren SW Washington

You can find out if the ASD is working by just checking for power at one side of the injectors during the first 2 seconds of turning the key on. What you could have is a bad Crank Sensor because the ASD won't power during cranking unless it sees a crank signal but it will power for 2 seconds on initial "key on" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

wv; I don't have a way of posting wiring diagrams. Sorry. Your public library, more than likely, will have manuals that you can make copies of what you need. Pretty sure that All Data has them online, but charges for the service? Loren SW Washington
