95 Fiesta starts then cuts out	Sign In

I have a 1995 Ford Fiesta, when I start it and set off the power cuts out, the car restarts and I press the accelerator it generally goes and is ok, I can cut out again but never a 3rd time is there anything I can do to fix it? or do you know what the problem is?

Sounds like the Idle air Control valve may be going bad. Those are classic symptoms of one failing. The key there is if you give it a little gas that it keeps running.

Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

Hey W20, does the 95 Fiesta have an electronic Oxygen Sensor? I am not sure on the USA built ones. It sounds like this could be the problem if it does.

Q - Does the car sputter at all?, or seem to be running badly before it cuts out?

Howdy Doc. It should have a heated O2 sensor. Usually it will give other symptoms as you described if it is the culprit. Good to see ya again.
