'95 Plymouth voyager sputtering

'95 plymouth voyager(not sure engine size) 175,000 miles
I'm having some sputtering(?) issues. When I take off quickly, It will sputter and make a pounding noise. If I take off slower, it won't make the noise or sputter. It seems like after my car has been running for a little bit, it won't do it.
I was thinking maybe it's the tranny fluid but does a slipping tranny make a bang noise and sputter? Maybe something with the fuel pump?
I've changed my oil and oil filter. The spark plugs are a few months old. Changed my fuel filter a few months ago. Any ideas?

When it is sputtering, do have a loss of power? Could be an secondary ignition problem that is showing up under load. How are the plug wires? Really need to know what size engine you have.

Sorry, I meant do you have loss of power from the engine when the sputtering is occurring? Did you ohm check the spark plug wires. Plug wires do wear out and increase in resistance.

You were right. The sputtering was a result of bad plug wires. I was going to attempt to change my spark plugs first just to start at the beginning of the line. When I pulled the boot off the first one, the metal piece that is usually inside the boot was stuck to the spark plug. The same thing happened with the 2nd and 4th boot. I was kinda confused as to why it would run poor when I first got in but once it was warmed up it was totally fine. I figured the heat was making the spark plug expand and was able to grab a hold of that metal piece.
Anyway, I went ahead and changed the wires today. It is running great now. I'm glad it was something simple.
