96 corsica cooling system

96 corsica cooling system Sign In

I just changed my thermostat in my 96 corsica 3.1 then noticed the low coolant light was on added the universal add to anything antifreeze instead of dex-cool and cannot get the low coolant light off need help

make sure you "burped" the system after you assembled and filled with coolant. then i would disconnect the batter for 10 min to reset the computer. reconnect the terminals and see if the light comes on.

the sensor just detects if there is fluid present. it cant tell the difference between Dex-Cool Prestone or plain water.

What you'll find a lot of times on these models is that the low coolant switch in the reservoir is stuck ..just tapping on the side of the reservoir will most of the time free it up...light should go off....common....
