'98 GMC Sierra Gas Pedal Sign In

I have a '98 GMC Sierra, 1/2 ton, 5.7 liter V8, 4WD. My gas pedal in the truck is a little loose. It will move side to side about an 1" or so. You can really feel it move when driving off road. I am wondering how to fix this. Where does the pedal assembly meet up with the cable link heading to the engine? I know something has to be loose, and am wondering if there is a way to tighten it up. Thanks.

If the gas pedal is loose, then you just need a new gas pedal, assuming it's not just loose bolts. It attaches to the throttle cable that comes through the firewall.

Its actually the metal frame part of the pedal that is loose. Not sure if you were thinking the pedal part you rest your foot on or not. Does the frame attach outside the firewall? I would assume it attaches out there, and then links up with the throttle cable.

It should be all one piece and it just bolts to the floor.
