99 olds temp gauge not working

99 olds temp gauge not working Sign In

temp gauge was working intermittently -
replaced temp control sensor -
replaced wire to check for break -
not working at all now

What model and engine do you have?

Are you sure you changed the sender for the gauge and not the sensor for the computer?

99 olds cutlass cierra 3.1

I meant to say I replaced the temp 'coolant' sensor

If you changed a 2 wire switch, then you changed the wrong one. The temp gauge sender is a one wire switch and usually located in the back corner of the head. The 2 wire sensor is for the computer, not the gauge.
