Does the theft or security light blink quickly? If no,you need to check all fuses first. Also, have you had the battery tested? The instrument panel will not lighting up will not be associated with the truck not starting.

Will this respond to a jump start for now? Seem like this is more of a battery and connection problem vs some mystery with the theft control system as it seems to be trying.

As way2old said - check out that battery - then check it's age and alternator's ability too,

As Tom suggested, try to jump the vehicle using your husbands key. Your key has probably lost programming allowing the theft deterrent to become active. Or does his allow the light to blink rapidly also? If both keys do it, either the PATS module is bad or the PCM needs re-programmed If his allows the theft light to operate normally, try to jump start it. If it starts, have the battery and cables tested. A check of alternator output is called for also. Or, bring it to Kentucky and I will re-program the key for you.Wink
