Belts in tires not straight? Sign In

I had my tires rotated and afterwards my car pulled to the left a week later I brought my car back to the shop and told them about it they looked at it did a alligment and checked the brakes (they put new brake pads on it the week before) they said one of the tires had a belt inside of it causing it to pull my car to one side.

They moved the tires around and said that's the only reasion that can find.

They did 2 alinements for free balanced the tires as well and said the only thing I can do is buy 2 new tires to fix it. I didn't buy any.

Is this a bunch of lies? If a tire has a belt inside it that is not straight wouldn't you be able to see it when it was balanced? Wouldn't it wobble?

I forgot to add.

If one of the belts is bad why did I never notice it before they rotated the tires? If it was on the back I guess I would not notice it.

Will leaving my car like this wear out anything? The tires have around 60,000 on them

That is 100% true and actually quite common. It's called radial pull.

You don't always have to replace the tires. They will work fine on the rear for the time being and after they are worn down some more, try them on the front again. It may or may not go away.

Thanks for the help.

Can I assume that since it pulls to left that it's the front left tire? If that's the case I'll move it to the rear.

It does not just pull to the left as soon as you let go of the steraing it goes into the other lane.

Why will the bad belt not show in a balance?
