Broken Front Sway Bar

2001 Pontiac Grand Prix has broken front sway bar. From what I know they are hollow which makes them break easily. Is it dangerous to drive it broken and can it cause additional problems? Are the replacments of better quality?

Sway bars are not hollow. I've never even seen one break. The links at the end wear out and break all the time though. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

YES, It is Hollow and it is broken (completely snapped in half). Maybe the aftermarket part will be of better quality. Still not sure if it I should be driving it with this being broken.

If the piece you have that broke is hollow, it's not a sway bar. Maybe post a picture of it.

http://www.thefind.com/...otchkis-sway-bar-kit This is similar to the one on my car (hollow). I will try to get a picture of the one on my car and post this weekend. I just hope its okay to drive it this way for a little while without causing any damage or creating a safety issue.

That's a new one on me. I guess they'll try anything for fuel mileage.
