Car won't move after braking

I'll be driving my car and after a while, when the engine starts getting hot, I'll brake at a light or something and when I take my foot off the brake, the car doesn't move, it's just stuck. I have to hit the accelerator to get the car moving again, the car will usually jolt when it happens. It seems to get worse and worse too as I keep driving where I have to hit the accelerator harder each time and get a harder jolt. It sucks because I worry that if I drive too long, no matter how much I hit the accelerator it will just keep me stuck, so I don't drive for long periods of time. Car is an Automatic Transmission Also, sometimes when the car is stuck, I'll feel a slight kick and it will start moving again Keep in mind that it only does this after about 10-15 minutes of driving. Really don't know what the problem could be. Could this be a transmission problem? I was extremely low on fluid a few months ago and added some without changing it. Could changing the fluid fix this?

I'm shocked that your continuing to drive this car like this. You seem have an issue with brakes staying applied and obviously, it can't be driven that way. There should be indications of which wheel is causing this. It should be giving off some heat or slight smoke after you've stopped. This needs to be checked out before driving it any further. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Do you really think it's a brake issue? The few people I've talked to think it's transmission.

I'm not there to see the problem myself. All I have is you description and that may or may not be accurate. You used the term "stuck" which is what let me to say that. If the engine is simply revving up without the car moving and then it slams into gear, then yes, it would sound like a transmission problem. Check your fluid level first.

The car has enough fluid, it was low a month ago and I just added fluid to it, didn't change the fluid. Idk if that could be the problem? The car will be normal for about 10 minutes until it gets hot, then I come to a complete stop, let my foot off the brake and it doesn't move. If I hit the accelerator real lightly, you can hear the engine rev up but it still won't move. I'll hit it a little harder and the car with kind of jerk and then start moving again. Thanks.

Have it examined by a shop. I can't see or hear it from here.
