Hey, so I have a 79 datsun 280zx and i cannot get the fuel injectors to fire. I have not had much if any experience in fuel injectors. I put a test light to the plug and both sides are showing to be hot. I would assume one side is supposed to be + and one side - , but i don't really know. anybody know what's going on? Theres plenty of fuel pressure by the way. Thanks.

They are both reading hot because it was plugged in when you tested it. Well, the car runs when you pour gas in the intake and it has good spark,new plugs, wires and coil. I disconnected the plugs from the injectors and both sides were hot with all the injectors disconnected. I actually shocked the hell out of myself replacing the coil yesterday, so i can verify that it has good spark. lol.

If your showing power at both wires when unplugged then either the wires are shorted together somewhere in the harness or a problem with the ECM itself. It's going to take some detailed troubleshooting to confirm the problem. I was thinking the ECM, but i hate to spend that much. Do you know a definete way to tell what it would be before i spend the money? Thanks for the help by the way.

Like I already told you. This isn't a diagnosis your going to find on the Internet. Everything has to be troubleshooted including all the wiring and all the inputs to the ECM. There is no definitive way to condemn an ECM.
