I have a Mazda 121 1990 manual (170,000km), I drove home one night...came back to it the next day and it started fine, after 2 minutes of being on it cut out (i assumed it was out of fuel as it was very low before so put 5 litres in from a jerry).

Now it will not restart, we have tried pouring fuel into the intake... it goes for a few seconds and dies.

also poured fuel into the lines and started...and ran for about 10 seconds and died, it does have fuel in the fuel filter.

If anyone could help i would really appreciate it.

In tank fuel pumps are cooled and lubricated by the fuel in the tank. When you run a car out of gas, it pumps a lot of air through the pump which overheats it and causes some severe wear and many times, failure when they cool off.
You will need to use a fuel pressure gauge to verify this
