Nasty thud from the under carriage Sign In

I own a 1993 Chevy Camaro with a 3.4ltr V6. From a stop, upon initial acceleration when giving gas, there's a very loud sledgehammer thud from the under carriage. It does this once. Not during gear changes. HELP!!!

Don't wait to figure that one out too long! It could be a thrust strut bushing or a few other things possible,

Thanks for the advice. Though, that's a part that I've never heard of. What is that part related to?

Check for any rubber or plastic mounts that may be on the vehicle. Motor mounts, transmission mounts, stabilizers.

Re: Nasty thud from the under carriage Sign In

can you isolate it to a certain area of the vehicle (front/rear left/right) also is it just a noise or can you feel it through the floor?
