97 Ford Explorer 140,000 mi Cuz having problems with his 97 Ford Explorer, depends solely on for work transportation. Says truck wouldn't start when he got inside the truck to go home. Also states truck was running normal before ooccurrence. Says he already got a flywheel (whatever that is) for it. Ok, they say the truck ignition will turn over but wont start. Says they have a good battery in but it wont start with a boost off. Truck is still sitting where left on the work parking lot. His mom desperately asking around for help n I suggested I'd check the forum. I understand her concern as we have bundles of shady mechanics in our city who will tell you things not even related to yr initial auto problem(s) to get yr cash. With this economy who can stand to loose...please help. Thanks in advance

Have the battery charged and tested and check all the cable connections first. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Hammertime, So sorry...I just chatted with the mom n I could have sworn I heard her say they checked out the battery good....already....but it turns out she just said they hadn't done that. I gave her yr suggestion. She said she will help her son to get that done today. Thanks n I do apologize.

It could be something else but we have to systematically eliminate things. I also need a better description of exactly what it is doing or not doing.
