Passenger Rear tire leaked brake fluid

I pulled in to a driveway to pick someone up just a second ago and when I pulled away I heard what sounded like a nail in my rear passenger side tire. I checked the tire and didn't see anything. I drove some more and it stopped then by brakes went all the way to the floor. Brake fluid was pouring out the rear passenger side tire.
I'm thinking the caliper stuck or something (that's what the noise was) and then something snapped resulting in a complete loss of brake fluid? Anyone have any idea what this could be? I'm going to take the tire off in the morning and take a look. Just want some "it could be .....'s".

A caliper sticking isn't going to make you lose fluid.
You either have a brake line rusted out, rubber line burst or blown caliper seal. If the pads wore too far, the caliper can spit the piston out also.

the noise that it made just after stopping for a while, does that sound like maybe it kicking a piston out and pushing against the disk? Then all of the sudden it worked free resulting in a clean path for all the brake fluid to escape?
I haven't had any brake problems up to this point, seems that I would have noticed a worn pad, but stranger things have happened I guess.
