Plugged Cat. issues Sign In

I have a 1998 Olds Bravada with the 4.3L Vortec V6. I have a plugged cat...simple enough...got the cat separted from the muffler and down pipe, now the issue i'm having is getting it down out of the underbody. all the hangers are free, i dropped the muffler and the rest of the pipe behind, my question is am i going to have to drop the cross member that holds my Transfer case up to get my cat down and out? cuz it's pretty well stuck up in there...Thanks for the help

Very possible you may have to..... With any part, I will twist, turn, stand on my head to look for the "secert passage.

If you can't pull the back pipe far enough away to slip it out the back, you may have to drop the crossmember.........

As said - sometimes the most whacked positions will just work. Don't know the exact issue but sometimes tilting and engine is required or other tricks,
