I have a 1991 Ford Escort Pony w/ 1.9L engine. I hear a scraping noise along the right rear of the car whenever I turn to the left (probably the right rear wheel?). Appreciate any help. Thanks,

Yes it very well could be a wheel bearing; it may only have some rust build up in the brake drum or a broken return/hold down spring for the brake shoes?
Regardless; have the thing checked; anything that can make noise could also cause the wheel to lock.
Lock without any further warning.
Dan.

To make it worse, wheel can also pass you going down the road. Dan is right. Get this checked out. Its not going to get any better without work. Just worse.
