Seat Ibiza 2002 1.4 petrol Sign In

Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could shed some light on my problem?
My car will go days with out starting, when it does start I dred switching it off as i know it will not start again.
I turn the key, the lights on dash come on but thats it, no attemp to turn over.
Sometime when i get it started its after locking doors and unlocking and turning key fast.
But this is not all the time.
I have had a new battery and ignition switch but still no joy.
Hs anyone got any ideas.
MAny thanks, Lou x

Most of us are US and that car is not sold here so we likely won't be much help.

Lou, no tech data from me either but do make sure or plain clean up both ends of cables to battery. One should go to starter and the other to engine block.

No clue why playing with door locks matters unless this has some alarm system that isn't working properly?

Don't be sorry Lou. This site is open to anyone just per chance focused more on N. American vehicles. Many principles are the same, specifics and hands on by most regulars would not be strong here.

Good luck with the fix for your vehicle and still here to suggest what might cause troubles,

Tom
