Re: Why is SEARS charging me almost $1000 to get my struts fixed?? [In reply to] Edit | Quote | Reply
Thanks for replying so quickly, a few more questions, since I can fix one area (struts) at a time, how long can i wait to get the other area fixed? And, how much would that cost? Lastly, will the mechanics try to get me to fix both at one time and what should I say to them if they become pushy? Thank you so much!! My Toyota Highlander, 2000 year, 135+ mileage and it's a 4wdV6.

When struts are needing replacement you would at least do them in pairs. Don't make me look it up but does this use just fronts or four as in rear ones as well? How many are you quoted to replace? Generally it's highly advised to do a full alignment as well at the same time so a grand for all four might not be that unusual depending on difficulty factor and cost of parts,

Two threads on this same vehicle. One is enough please but you essentially got the same answer. Don't reply here if further questions but the other where Steve answered - thanks,

Well,

I was quoted 4 times @ $186 and labor was added. He said when I was ready to give him a call.
