I have a 2001 Toyota Camry, 4 cylinder. I want to rotate the tires. After removing the lug nuts I was not able to remove the tire from the wheel. It was frozen tight. I thought perhaps I should release the parking brake. Doing so didn't help. The dash light indicating that the parking brake is engaged has been on even when the brake has been released. I have driven like that for 2 days.

Stuck Tight; Once the lug nuts are removed, there is nothing but rust that would hold the wheel to the hub. I've had to take a large mallet and 'smack' the wheel/tire hard at different spots to get it to come loose. The emergency brake issue needs to be addressed, but it won't have anything to do with removing the tire/wheel.

Where's Hammer Time?
As Loren said - use a rubber mallet/Hammer on opposite areas of wheel - rubber should NOT hurt finish of a wheel and rock it off. Then clean the rust and spray with something to prevent this again. DON'T ALLOW LUBE ON A BRAKE FRICTION SURFACE!
From Rusto-Chusetts this is routine here!

(edit) as said fix the parking brake - cables rust and they can drag! Not safe!

If that doesn't work, here's another trick. Find a parking lot to do this.
Loosen all the lugs on that wheel by a couple turns, not all the way, then drive the car slowly in a circle and as soon as the wheel wobbles a little, stop and jack it up.

Interesting trick! Think I tried something like that with a 1960 Rambler and when wheel passed me I knew it was ready! LMAO - kinda??

That's almost exactly the car! LOL. Tunnel drive, overdrive, three on the tree, king pin front end - 8 zillion miles on the sucker. They were neat cars if you ever owned one. Ugly as a flock of A$$-holes but they weren't all that bad a car!
It was already 20 when I got it! LOL - bought it for $100 I think in a raging blizzard rare as it was Denver, CO. It broke down with the test drive and I fixed it and came back and got a deal some two hours later! LOL again,
