Tune up Sign In

Hi all, what is the best way to replace the plugs and wires on a 1996 Seville SLS, thanks for the info.

Re: Tune up Sign In

Just look at the location of the plugs and determine if you can even get at them without jumping thru hoops. I couldn't find specifics on this car but a good look will tell. Can you even get your hand on the boots at the plugs?

It can be a hassle without some fancy tools and sometimes (don't know for this model) you need to tilt engine and things like that! Use OE recommended parts for this,

Re: Tune up Sign In

Thanks Tom, looks like if I remove the coil pack assembly I may be able to get to the rear plugs. The car started sputtering and an occasional backfire a week or so ago, check engine light came on two days ago, I stopped by Advanced Auto today for them to read the code. What he told me was it needs a tune up. Before I replace the coil pack, I want to change the plugs and wires first. Does this make sense?

At the age the plugs and wires wouldn't be a waste. You could just mist (water) the coil packs and area high voltage stuff and see if you see problems that show right up when damp. If you see it on a coil they have to go,
