Water getting into explorer..How? Sign In

I have a 1999 Ford Explorer Sport. When it rains water is getting into the car and saturating the mats on the driver's side. I can't find where the water is coming from. It is happening when the car is parked. It got so bad I had to remove the carpet today because of the musty smell. Has anyone ever had this problem and could shed some light for me or does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!!

I've found the sealing of the windshield to be the source of this problem in assorted vehicles. I've used painter's tape to temporarily prove that around the whole top and sides to see if that stops the problem and then correct as needed. There is a chance that the condensate drain for the A/C evaporator is plugged and somehow water gets in that area of the distribution box,

To add....water test the vehicle using 2 people..one inside, one outside...water test with water at a 45 degree angle to the vehicle...see if you can determine points of entry...
Does the vehicle has a moonroof?...if so, good place to look as well....Ford did have a water leak concern from this area...
