Windshield wiper container Sign In

If the windshield wiper container is leaking or is empty, will it cause a Check Engine light to come on?

No, it won't cause a check engine light. Some vehicles have a washer fluid lamp that will illuminate if the windshield washer fluid is low, though.

Thanks Loren. I did see what looks like a sensor attached to the side of the container. What would this be for? This car has started to be a pain. Thanks

Re: Windshield wiper container Sign In

that could be the sensor for the "Low washer fluid" light on the dash, or it could be the actually washer pump your looking at.

You could disconnect the plug and see if the light goes out. If not, it's probably the pump as dmac suggested.
