1997 Ford Expedition 5.4 171000 mileage. The back tee that connects my hoses by my fire wall broke loose and dumped antifreeze into my 5th cylinder. I changed that spark plug and suctioned the anti freeze out and cleaned the coil pack. I cleared all my codes and it is running worse. It is shaking violently to the point cd's are skipping and I can barely accelorate. Any more ideas? Please anything will be helpful I need my truck to run and as it is now I cannot drive it.

How did the coolant get into the cylinder if the spark plug was still in or did this happen because you removed the spark plug?

I honestly don't know how that happened. I took the coil pack out to get to plug and there was a pool of water in the cylinder. I suctioned the fluid out and than removed the plug which was caked with antifreeze. I cleaned everything out and replaced it with a new plug. I am only bringing up the cylinder 5 misfire. I can't get it over 10 mph without shaking and it suddenly popping into gear and finally going. The exhaust smells like gas and I am only getting 6.5 miles per gallon according to my gauge.

The fluid didn't get into the cylinder until you removed the spark plug. You should have just washed out the coolant with a hose and then blew the water out with air.
Pull the plug back out and swap the plug and coil with a different cylinder. You may have cracked the coil or plug.

I'm not saying it's going to disappear. We're just trying to see if the miss moves to a different cylinder. Put the plug and the coil in different cylinders so you can tell.

The engine is hot and I was told not to pull the plugs while it was hot. Is the only way to fix that tee is to but a whole new setup? I did a quick fix to get it home with epoxy and silicone tape. I dont know much about this truck I am just a girl with whatever car knowledge my ex taught me...lol.

Its my female I always say..lol. It had a cylinder 3 misfire 2 weeks ago I fixed that and that this hose popped and here we go again. Is the coil just the top part I take out to get to plug? So should I wait till it is completely cooled?

Yes, the coil is the part you take out first. Put that one in a different cylinder and put the plug in different one from that, then clear the computer so you can see which cylinder misfire comes up next and you will know whether it was the coil or the plug causing it.
Just make sure it isn't still getting leaked on because that will cause it anyway. Get the coolant leak resolved before you do anything with the cylinders.

Thank you, I will go get the hoses tomorrow and my hanyes manual says I may need to decompress these hoses. Any truth to that? I figured they were already decompressed considering thier current condition.

I am not sure either. There is a tee with 3 hoses one going into fire wall and I was told it was for my rear ac unit. Than there are two more that connect into my coolant lines. Nobody has the hoses for this nor the tee. I was told to go to ford and get the whole assembly which would be the 3hoses and the tee. I was trying to avoid this because I don't know exactly where these hoses connect.

Nope, you have to go to the dealer for that. It's just a nightmare to try to recreate it. They are all molded hoses and not sold separately. The dealer sells it as one piece and it's the only way to go on that.

But I dont need to decompress anything? lol I know back to that. So after I fix that switch the coil pack and see if the misfire moves to another cylinder. I have no check engine lights on at the moment.

I have no idea what decompress means in this situation. All you have to do is drain enough fluid to change the hoses and refill it when your done. Rinse all the coolant off the engine and dry it out. If any coolant leaked past the hole into the spark plug tool, remove the coil and rinse it out, then blow it out.

I'll just pop in with a quick note....
There is a special tool that depresses the lock tabs that hold the heater hoses on to the heater core. That is probably what they are refering to...
#5 cyl is the front cylinder on the drivers side. #4 is the one that gets coolant in it from leaking heater hoses...

Thanks you, and cylinder 4 was dry as a bone, but cylinder 5 had a inch of water in it when I opened it.

Sooo, I replaced plug and coil on cylinder 5 and 3 and also ran a bottle of lucas injector cleaner. It is running a bit better. I also cleaned the electrical connectons to the fuel injectors to remove all the antifreeze residue. I actually brought it to the shop and they fixed my leak but because no codes were coming up they did not know where to start. Well today, I have check engine light on for cylinder two and yes still bucking. Also the connection to the fuel injector located at cylinder 2 can be disconnected while running and causes no further problems. So would it be my fuel injector? The connection? The plug or coil for cylinder2? Also should add that there is a intense smell of gas when I am driving and also it only bucks during acceloration. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

The only thing pulling that wire proves is that cylinder is misfiring and you already knew that. Now you have to find out if it's spark or fuel causing the miss. If the plug is getting fouled, it's probably no spark. If the plug is coming out clean and dry, then it may be fuel.
