This starts back in August. Check engine light came on, truck would start then stall rght away however if I was able to get it to keep running it would run rough for the whole day. Brought it to my mechanic he replaced the computer, wire and plugs. (yes, the computer). The truck ran good for about 2 months Now it seems to be happening again. Got codes for misfire 3 and bad o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1. I changed the o2 sensor and truck runs better but the check engine light comes on for about 30 seconds at which time the truck runs rough but then it corrects itself and runs fine again. Now I got codes for o2 sensor bank2 sensor 1 and random misfires. This truck is used for deliveries and is running for 7 hours a day making frequent stops.

im going to fault a internally leaking headgasket. based on my own experience on one of my cars.

are you burning/loosing any coolant???

on my car, i was loosing coolant and getting a random misfire code. the first time i went to start the car after it sat over night, it would be hard starting and want to stall out.

heres some possibilities

the misfire code.....could be caused by coolant leaking into the combustion chamber and as we know antifreeze doesnt burn.

you said its hard starting fbut you could eventually get it goingirst thing......this is probably due to the antifreeze leaking into the combustion chamber when the engine is cold and the coolant is leaking into the chamber

Re: engine trouble (complicated) Sign In

thanks for the reply. I did not explain myself clearly
it is not really a hard start the truck will start then try to stall but I feather the gas pedal to keep it going and this happens randomly once a week maybe. There is no loss of antifreeze either
