92 Eldo-4.9L- 300,000+. Lower hose clamp came off new radiator. System has never been flushed out. Is there something I can do, or just refill ?------- also owners manual calls for adding GM engine coolant supplement (sealer) only with complete change was not added when rad was R&R--Auto zone guy said they didn't have any sealer ( not talking about stop leak). Plan on new clamp and refill tomorrow advice much appreciated O' knowledgeable one's.

This has a top mounted T stat so air pockets aren't as big of a problem as bottom mounted ones...

Most shops use an air lift tool to fill systems now so air pockets aren't a problem...

This one you could fill like normal. Then let it run, get to operating temp, making sure it doesn't get hot. After you run it and it's cooled down completely, double check the level and top off as needed........

While the supplement isn't critical, you would probably have to go to the dealer to get it. Some of those were a combination sealer, lube & rust inhibitor. I've never been a big fan of sealers of any kind in cooling systems... If it has a leak, the best option always is to repair the leak correctly........
