How do you get the screw that goes into your battery off the battery cable?

Sometimes, it's easier if you turn the bolt while putting pressure on it. Easier yet, if you grab the hex end of the bolt with a pair of channel lock pliers and twist and pull. It will come out. Loren SW Washington

Usually the plastic cover is what holds it in. If you can twist as Loren stated and push it through the plastic. It is usually in an awkward place where it is hard to get pressure on it. It is possible corrosion has it frozen to the cable also. If this is the case, mix 1 tablespoon baking soda in 1 cup of water and soak it. It should free it up so it will come out.
