How to Restoring instant starting Sign In

My geo prizm starts ok.
But not right when the key is turned.

How do i restore it so the car starts immediately when the key is turned.
The car is a geo prizm 1994.
In excelent condit, except for the above.

I have thought about it being related to,
RPM speed- mabe its not firing fast enough when the car starts? If i increase this slightly will the rpm fire faster at the moment of key turn? thus causing the car to start at the moment of key turn.

Sludg build up? possibly slowing the engine itself?

mabe it's a distributer issue? howver this is not a suspect to me. The distributer was installed by me at 100,000 miles and is strong. Calibrated and timed.

This car is in excelent condition just doesn't start at the moment of key turn.

I appreciate any information provided.Pirate

Re: How to estoring instant starting Sign In

Sludge would first cause noises and slowly engine failure so it should not be the problem at hand. I suspect that your fuel pressure isn't available right away. Try turninging the key to run without starting the engine for a while then go to start. If that solves it the reason could be injector leak down or a check valve for the fuel. Just a thought and I'm NOT a Geo tech at all but mechanics is mechanics. - T
